Geocast Rustic Natural Oak Beams
Our classic oak effect Geocast® beams are non-combustible and molded to achieve ultimate high definition to create a truly authentic look. These have been developed from a natural and extremely durable material.
Also available in Dark Oak and all of our beams are hand finished therefore may vary slightly. Beams are supplied with a simple fixing kit to allow easy installation.
Capital's non-combustible Geocast Beams have been developed from a natural, inorganic material. In addition to being non-toxic and unburnable, they are extremely durable and are molded to achieve a high definition, realistic authenticity. Although minimum clearance distances to the stove still apply, Geocast Beams allow installation distances to be much closer than real wood.

Please read these guidelines thoroughly before commencing any part of the installation and leave them with the customer at the end of the installation.
The Decorative Beam Brackets should be installed by an experienced person in accordance with Building Regulations, Building Standards and other local regulations in force at the time. The Decorative Beam Brackets have been designed and manufactured as “decorative brackets” for use only with the Capital Fireplaces Geocast “CLASSIC” Beams. The Decorative Beam Brackets function is purely decorative. They are not meant to support the weight of the Geocast “CLASSIC” Beams which have their own independent wall fixing method. They are meant to be positioned close to the Geocast “CLASSIC” Beams but not to support its weight. No part of the Decorative Beam Bracket is meant to be screwed or fixed onto the Geocast “Classic” Beam. The top section coach bolts have been welded in place and cannot turn. These Decorative Beam Brackets have only been designed to work with the Geocast “CLASSIC” Beams and not the other Geocast Beam designs. They are not suitable for use with other solid timber or composite beams.
PREPARATION
Please ensure that the surface these Decorative Beam Brackets are to be fixed to, is level and plumb. Ensure the chimney breast upon which the Decorative Beam Brackets are going to be fixed is structurally sound enough to securely accommodate the fixings you will use. Install the Geocast “CLASSIC” Beam (using its own independent fixing method) before installing the Decorative Beam Brackets.
INSTALLATION
1) Offer up the Decorative Beam Brackets and mark where to drill the bolt fixing holes. (The positioning of the brackets is one of personal preference).
2) Remove the Decorative Beam Brackets and drill the fixing holes using a 10mm diameter drill suitable for the wall.
3) Push the Rawl Plugs into the holes and reposition the Decorative Beam Brackets.
4) Using a 13mm Open Ended Spanner secure the Decorative Beam Brackets onto the wall using the Coach Bolts and
Washers (supplied). The Washers should be placed between the Coach Bolt heads and the front face of the Decorative Beam Bracket. Care should be taken when securing the Decorative Beam Brackets so the surface of the Geocast “Classic” Beam is not damaged. We recommend placing a sheet of paper or thin cardboard between the Geocast “Classic” Beam and the Decorative Beam Bracket whilst you are securing the Decorative Beam Bracket in place. Do not use masking or any other adhesive tape as this will damage the surface of the Geocast “Classic” Beam.
NOTES:
The Decorative Beam Brackets and Coach Bolts have a painted finish.
Care should be take not to damage the surfaces of the Decorative Beam Brackets when tightening the Coach Bolts using the 13mm Open Ended Spanner. Remember the Decorative Beam Brackets are not designed to support the weight of the Geocast “Classic” Beam.
If damaged, the surface Decorative Beam Bracket surface can be touched up using Capital Fireplaces “Graphite” paint which can be sourced from Greenfield Services.
If touching up is required, do not use masking or any other adhesive tape on the surface of the Geocast Beam as this will damage it but do ensure to mask all surrounding surfaces.
