Available in a 200g Tin
STRAIGHT OUTTA THE TUBBY SMOKER!
Tubby HQ has a bit of a smoking obsession — and with the addition of a bigger, badder smoker, they’re now producing larger batches of their signature wood-smoked sea salts. Now available in generous 200g tins (which, by the way, look seriously cool), this is smoke in its most satisfying form.
HICKORY WOOD SMOKED
Hickory is a hardwood hero — one of the most popular all-rounders for smoking thanks to its bold, balanced flavour. It shares some character with pecan wood but is a touch stronger, with a rich smokiness, a whisper of spice, and a hint of sweetness. Think classic American BBQ.
This makes it a dream match for big cuts like beef brisket or pork shoulder. While it can be intense for lighter meats like chicken, Tubby’s team loves the extra punch of flavour — and this salt soaks it up beautifully.
Use it as a crunchy finishing salt, to season slow-cooked meats, anything grilled, or for the smokiest homemade popcorn in the universe. Seriously.
THE TINS ARE RAD, TOO.
Once the salt’s gone, you’ll want to keep the tin — ideal as a stash box or countertop companion.
TUBBY TIP: SALT TIN CARE
Salt + metal + moisture = rust. Try to keep your tin away from steam and humidity (we know that’s tough if it lives next to your hob). If rust appears on the bottom, pour the salt out, clean the tin with lemon juice, let it dry completely, and refill. Or line the tin with baking paper to prevent it altogether.
