The Dimplex Cassette 500 Opti-myst Electric Fire provides the freedom to create a completely bespoke fireplace using Dimplex’s remarkably realistic three-dimensional flame technology.
Designed for installation within a custom-made fireplace, feature wall, room divider or piece of furniture, this compact 50cm cassette can be viewed from every direction. It can therefore be used within front-facing, corner, three-sided, tunnel and fully open fireplace designs.
Realistic Opti-myst Flames
Patented Opti-myst technology combines illuminated water vapour with energy-efficient LED lighting to create the appearance of flames and smoke rising naturally from the fuel bed.
Because the effect is formed from cool water vapour, the flames can be viewed from every angle and even reached into safely. The result is a convincing three-dimensional fire effect without real flames, combustion, gas or a chimney.
LED Log-Effect Fuel Bed
The Cassette 500 is supplied with a detailed LED log-effect fuel bed, adding structure, illumination and fireside character to the display.
With no fixed glass front or conventional firebox surrounding the effect, the logs and flames can be incorporated into a wide variety of bespoke installations.
Flexible Viewing Configuration
The open cassette design provides an uninterrupted all-round view of the flames. It can be installed as a one-sided fire, positioned on a corner, viewed from three sides, used within a see-through tunnel fireplace or left open on all four sides.
This flexibility makes the Cassette 500 suitable for domestic interiors, hospitality environments, commercial displays and bespoke furniture projects.
Adjustable Flame Intensity and Sound

Remote and Manual Controls
The principal functions can be operated using the supplied remote control or the manual controls situated on the cassette.

Easy-Fill Water System
The manually filled 1.3-litre water tank provides approximately eight to ten hours of operation from one fill, depending on the selected flame intensity and environmental conditions.

Create Longer Fire Displays
Up to five compatible Dimplex Opti-myst cassettes can be connected in series from one electrical outlet, allowing the Cassette 500 to form part of a much longer continuous fire display.
